Cool Then let's try the usual...
Hi, John.

First, rename normal.dot to abnormal.dot.

If that doesn't work, hit Start-Run and type regedit and hit enter.

Go to this folder:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\9.0\word

Right click the Word folder and rename it to OldWord.

Reinstalling Office does not fix the registry. There's a program for each, Office 97 and Office 2000, called Eraser97 and Eraser 2000 (yes, I spelled them both exactly as they are spelled, spaces and all). Using them ensures a "pure" reinstall of Office. However, I think this will resolve your problem. If not, let me know and I'll help you get eraser if you need it.

Right click the Word folder and rename it to OldWord.
