I can print a page of labels with a variety of text using MS Word. How do I add an image to the label?

Cool Just learned this terrific shortcut, bob!
Create the spiffy label document making one minor change. Type the letters XXXX at the location in which you would like to place the picture.

Now you'll need to copy the picture.

If you need to, insert the picture into a blank document. The picture, for best results, should have been placed into the document NOT using the float-over text option (Office 97) and should be set so that the layout is in-line-with-text (Office 2K). (When you're done the process, just close and do not save the document with the picture in it.) Now, copy the picture, which will place it on the clipboard.

Hit Edit-Replace. In the Find what box, type XXXX and in the Replace With box, type ^c (must be a lower-case C; this is the code for the clipboard contents).

Hit Replace all. Hope this helps!

PS: Of course, you could create a page full of labels with just the pictures, save it as a template and then hit File-New whenever you want to use the labels with the picture...

Spiffy Labels
Works great. I really appreciate your help. I help teach Seniors basic computing (Mostly Internet and E-Mail) but they occasionally come up with requests like this - they believe anything can be done with just a couple of key strokes!! Thanks again. BTW I like the new format.

Cool No, problem, Bob
It's funny, but the picture in the label has been a thorn in my side for a few years. When you use Word the way I do and you get those keyboard shortcuts down, well, you just kind of do things the manual way. Then, when it comes to telling someone how to do it...or they have to do it 30,000 times, well... Then I ran across this in a newsletter I got from another tech site (don't tell!); how stupidly simple! I can't imagine why I'd never thought of it myself!

Spiffy Labels
Here's another way.
In Word select View/Print Layout then Insert/Picture/From File. Choose your picture then double click it to format. Click Layout then select Square. Size image to approx. how it will appear on label. On menu bar select Edit/Copy next select Tools/Envelopes and Labels. Select Labels tab and type address in desired font and full sheet. Last - click the New Document tab.

Cool Well, Bob, now that's too easy!
If you had an EASY question, why'd ya ask?

(Bob--I'm just kidding. This was the OTHER way that I couldn't recall when I was sitting here that night...on painkillers...well, you get the idea.)
