Hi there,

My company receives quite a bit of mail undeliverable or mail failures that get sent back to our customer service mailbox. I know there's a way to have these mails not show up on the Customer Service mailbox but deleted or even moved to a separate folder? Does anybody know how I can do this or where I can find some information about this?

Thank you

Hi reldon

What e-mail client are you using? Are you using an Exchange server?

Have you tried applying rules to the returned e-mails?

Let us know.

Hi EAFiedler,

I am using Exchange Server. The previous IT guy was able to do so but I wasn't able to ask him before he left.

So are you using Outlook 2000?

Our company uses Microsoft Outlook 98 as well as 2000, for some users. Mostly, it is Outlook 98

So all the returned mail ends up in one particular Inbox?

If that is the case, try creating a Rule for that particular Inbox that looks for something similar in all the messages like "Undeliverable"

(I am using Outlook 98 in Corporate/Workgroup mode.)
Tools>Rules Wizard>New
Type of Rule:
Check messages when they arrive>Next
Conditions:
With specific words in the subject
click on specific words to insert the word or words you want Outlook to look for. You may need to insert the specific words in both upper and lower case.
Next>What do you want to do with the message.
First try it with an action you can visually supervise such as moving it to a folder to confirm Outlook is following the rules.
Click on Specified folder to either create a new folder or use an existing folder.
Next>Add any exceptions in this window>Note your exceptions if need be.
Next>Name your rule>Make sure there is a checkmark in "Turn on this rule"
Finish.
Send some test messages to test the rule.

Let us know if this works for you.
