I have the following situation: A user sends email and has Outlook set up to save a copy of sent email in the sent items folder. BUT, there is nothing in the sent items folder when you open it. I have tried repairing the Office 2000 installation via add remove programs (running Win2000)

Any ideas? all other users are fine.

Yes.
There's also an

outlook.exe /cleanprofile

if you want to try that first. Just run it from the Run command box.

Also, you might want to clean views to make sure your user isn't hiding the emails in the sent items with some kind of filter.

outlook.exe /cleanviews

There's more command-line switches if you want them.

dreamboat...great tips!! I used the Outlook.exe /cleanviews before removing the profile and BAM! all the sent items appeared. I'd like to see a list of the other switches and their uses IF you feel like posting them.

Thanks for the help!

Check Technet too.
at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/searchkb.asp

and search for command-line switches with Outlook (each one) as the product. Here's the ones I remember off the top of my head:

/Cleanprofile (2000 only)
/Regserver (97, 98 only)
/Cleanviews
/Cleanreminders
/CleanFreeBusy
/Cleanfinders
/CheckClient
/Recycle
/ResetFolders
/ResetOutlookBar
/Nopreview
/CleanSchedPlus
/Safe

I'm not sure if they all work in all versions. Like I said, check technet.
