Didn't realize this was posted.

This person emailed me directly in a panic. We went back and forth a few times--remember I'm not great with Access! Finally asked for the file itself, he sent it and it opened right up.

That's when I remembered about system.mda files. If you lock yourself out of Access, you may have created a workgroup. To get rid of the workgroup, find and delete the *.mda file (the file is either system.mda or workgroupname.mda). Don't do this at work, LOL.
