Shortcut Key
In Access 2000 is there any such thing as a shortcut key to enter the current date and time. If not, is there a way I can set this up? I'd like to be able to hit like F3 and have the current date and time pulled from the PC clock and come up where my cursor is. Anyone do this or know how it's done?

Thanks
Bobbi

Kinda hard to use F3 since that is assigned already as a Search key. Try a macro with a key combination like alt+F3. Or make a custom toolbar with that macro built in to paste the date and time in the text area with the focus.

I'm pretty sure they are:

ctrl-d = Date

ctrl-t = Time

Question Shortcut Keys
Thanks for the replys, but CTRL-T and D did not work. If it works for you please tell me how you have it working.

I'd like to write a macro to do this, but I can't figure out how to assign key strokes to it. I know how to do it in Word, but I don't see where you can do it in Access.

I've tried to do it with a macro, but I don't see where it can be done. It looks like I'll have to write VB code and that's something I know nothing about. I've been trying to write it as a module, but I can't get it to work right.

By the way, the F3 key does nothing in Access for me. Doesn't search or anything.

Thanks for your help!

Type "keyboard shortcuts" into the Access help file answer wizard.

Here's just some:

CTRL+SEMICOLON ( To insert the current date
CTRL+COLON ( To insert the current time
CTRL+ALT+SPACEBAR To insert the default value for a field
CTRL+APOSTROPHE (') To insert the value from the same field in the previous record
CTRL+PLUS SIGN (+) To add a new record
CTRL+MINUS SIGN (-) To delete the current record
SHIFT+ENTER To save changes to the current record
SPACEBAR To switch between the values in a check box or option button
CTRL+ENTER To insert a new line

Thumbs up It Works
Thanks for the help. I had typed Keybord Shortcuts into the Access Help but did not come up with the ones you did. I tried again after your post, but still I did not get or could not find the ones you gave me. So thank you very very much!!

Hmmm...
Well, you're spelling keyboard wrong here, maybe you spelled it wrong when you did the search too?
