Sorting and Grouping in Access 97
All of a sudden in my reports I can no longer sort and group. I right click to get the sorting and grouping function and I click on it and it does nada. It's like it has been deactivated some how. How do I reactivate it?

Why am I haunted?
Seems like everytime I see a question here that I can't help with, I get the same question at work. Seems like everytime I get a question at work that I can't help with, I get the same question here.

Just had this question a week or so ago and did everything we possibly could, and was unable to help.

What happens when you use the menu instead? (View-Sorting and Grouping)

Same thing, no workie. Any of the buttons I used via toolbar or in the report itself nothing happens. I know it has to be on the user's machine custom settings since I can use the button on other peoples computer.

No workie?
The usual questions:

Do you have the rights?
Are you using Access 97 to open the DB (vs 2K without converting which doesn't allow design changes)?
Repaired and compacted?
Report has data to work with?

(I ended up having the other guy reinstall. Never heard back, but assume it fixed it.)

Yes, yes, yes and yes. This happened to me once before I remembered I had to turn on the control wizard. But dog gone it I toggled it and it did nothing. Reinstall seems the path I have to take. Curses

I would say that having accidentally moved the window off the screen would seem like a really dumb possible answer, if I hadn't already done it multiple times myself. And durned if I don't forget this li'l MS KB trick every time

Thank you!
I ended up reinstalling it, it took like 3 minutes. No big whoop. That link that downwitchyobadself put in looked like it would of fixed it too. Thank you all very much.
