If I wanted to create a 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 digit numbers. All positive numbers. What is the best way that you recommand? All I want to do is drag and pull and 4-8 digit numbers appear. Thanks for your help.

=RANDBETWEEN(1000,99999999) will generate numbers with the lowest possible being 1000 and the highest 99999999.

When I use this formula =RANDBETWEEN(1000,99999999) I received this error message (#NAME)? What am I doing wrong? Do you have any suggestions.

That doesn't appear to be a formatting problem. Are you receiving that error in the cell with =RANDBETWEEN(1000,99999999) in it, or in another cell that draws from it?

Often that is a misspelling error. did you copy and paste the formula directly from here? it works for me.

Never mind, I found out. From MS:
If this function is not available, and returns the #NAME? error, install and load the Analysis ToolPak add-in.
That ToolPak is very useful. To add it:
On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
In the Add-Ins available list, select the Analysis ToolPak box, and then click OK.
If necessary, follow the instructions in the setup program.
You may need to restart Excel for it to kick in.
I always install it when I get a new version of Excel - didn't think about it. Sorry!

I have another question in excel. This question is very similar to the problem you solved for me. You might even rearrange your formula to solve this problem. I have an attachment to show you. It doesn't look like this will attach my document.

Go down to the button that says "Go Advanced."
Scroll down the page to a section called "Additional Options."
In the Attach Files box, click on "Manage Attachments."

There are size limits - for Excel it is 200kb. If your file is larger than that, zip it, then post that.

- and in the same thin lines - should be the manage attachments button. But even weirder, you have managed before. If it is possible for you, try it from a different computer.
