I just got the new sony spressa usb plus cd-r drive, and i installed all the software and hardware as the instructions say. but the drive isn't showing up in windows explorer. it should show up as F : (hard drive partitions C : and D :, dvd drive E : ) i unplug it and plug it back in and it comes up as "Removeable Disk F :" it should show up as a cdrom drive. what should i do to make it show up?

Great!

Can you tell us what you did, in case someone else has the same problem?

OK. Dont follow the instructions for installing it, it didn't work for me! First, I uninstalled ALL the software that came with it, and any other software i put on to burn cd's. then i unplugged the drive from the usb port, turned the computer off, then plugged it in, turned it on, and windows 98 SE detects it but cannot find any drivers for it. (go along with that, untill it says it has no drivers) then install the sony USB Spressa CD-Extreme software, and reboot as required. KEEP THE DRIVE PLUGGED IN UNTILL IT IS DONE REBOOTING! then go in windows explorer and see if it comes up. (It did for me.)
