Solved: No Sound Missing Plug & Play Software Enumerator
I have formatted my HD and installed WinXP home.
a) Everytime i start my computer it says "Cannot find 4e.tmp"
b) I have no sounds. I have installed all drivers. Tryed everything. In sound manager it says that i have modem 0 as sound car. My sound card is realtek ac'97.
Installed all the drivers. I checked it and it says that it works. No problems, but i cant choose that sound device in sound manager. It worked perfectly before i reinstalled XP Home.

Screenshot attached to this message
Please help.

[Sorry my bad english, and my windows is on Finnish language]

Howdy,

Did you get any Disks with the PC other than the one with the Operating System on it like maybe a Utility disk?

Does that PC have a Make and Model ?

Did you restart the PC after installing the drivers?

What country did you buy the PC?

Also post a HijackThis logwhich may show something

Download HijackThis to your desktop
  • Double click on HijackThis on your Desktop
  • Then click on Unzip
  • It will install to Program files by default
  • Then Click Start>>>Run type C:\Program Files click OK
  • Look for a folder called HijackThis
  • Double click on it
  • On the right you will see a Icon of Dynamite with plunger
  • Double click on the Icon
  • Click on Icon and choose "scan system and save a logfile" usually in notepad
  • Copy and Paste the logfile in your next post
  • Using Ctrl+A to copy All and Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste.
