Did you try unchecking them all, as I suggested?

Do you have any external drives, or USB card readers, etc. installed/attached?

I have a pair of external hard drives but I keep them powered off, I have card reader that I built into my tower. Could that be causing the 'Windows -no disk' error. Also I fail to get that windows screen prompt that used to show up when I connected either a media card or CD that would give me options with what to do with the media, ie save, transfer, email etc., could the two problems be related?

I don't think that is related....but......

I was googling around earlier and found a link, I'm on a different computer at the moment, so, I'll get back to that one and post the link. It seems to me that the solution involved renaming the card reader drive letters.
