Hi 'am using suse 6.3 and want to configure sendmail so I can use Pine to receve and send an e-mail. My provider is freewwweb.com and servers are: pop3.freewwweb.com and smtp.freewwweb.com ...I tried more than few times now and no sucess ...because freewwweb requires password to log on their web server and I dont know how to set that up in sendmail and also I dont want sendmail to check my mail every time I boot to linux ...I know there is a script that you can make run every time there is a connection to a internet but this is off topic so dont mind this...If somebody can guide me through process of seting up this nasty animal (sendmail) I would be very very greatful.

Thanks in advance

Linux Magazine has a great article for setting up mail for newbies in their December 99 issue. Unfortunately, it is not available online yet. However, there is hope.

Check out the following site, which contains very detailed and explicit instructions:
http://www.moongroup.org/how-to.phtml

Hope this helps!
