Despite knowing how important, a recent late night session must have clouded my memory, and now what I thought I had changed the IE4 content advisor password to does not work. Short of formatting C drive, does anyone know any way to access/change it? I have tried unloading-reloading IE4. Thank you in advance, Tom

i was looking for the same answer myself and here's what i found .... don't know if it works yet and as always the number one rule before editing the registry is MAKE A BACK UP COPY OF THE REGISTRY..... hope this works for you !

First Delete the file ratings.pol in the windows\system Dir. Then start your registry editor "start/run/ type in regedit/ hit enter". Once in reg edit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENTVERSION/POLICIES/RATINGS in the right pane you will find "key" delete or rename. Then close out of reg edit and reboot and this problem should be solved. As always backup first in case of problems.

Well, I didn't delete the ratings file. Just deleted the key from the registry. Worked like a charm.

It worked, it worked! But now that I found where it is (was), my curiosity has me wondering how to convert the 16 digit hexadecimal code back to good ol' English. The ASCII code chart sure didn't help. Their decimal equivalents aren't letters. Is it an address? I can't imagine what password I put in. Anyway, its academic now. Thanks again! Tom
