Hello all, I have a minor problem which is a bit of annoying.
The problem is that in the window tittle bar of my IE4, after the name of the site - "Tech Support Guy Bulletin Board" for instant - it's followed by "Microsoft Internet Explore provided by 'my company's name'". I thought if I update IE4 to IE5, I would get rid of the name but the thing is still there. I do have my own IE4 CD-ROM, but the IE4 in my PC was installed together with Outlook98 through my work's CD.
Is there a way to get rid of it? The name of my company in the Tittle bar.
If not, is it easy and simple to uninstall IE5 and put IE4 (from the CD) back on? BHesson said in a thread somewhere which I couldn't find, that IE5 is part of Windows98, therefore one can't really get rid of it.
Please show me how to do it if there is a way, thank you.
NB. Hi Larry, I am glad that my spelling mistakes (threat = thread) amused you hehehe

Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Earthlink....it doesn't really bother me. In fact it saved me an hour's worth of downloading. There is a way to get rid of it. I don't know the registry key off-hand, but why muck through the registry when someone else can?

Get X-Setup. There is an option in there that will let you change it. http://xteq.com

Or this posting should help. Look at the last response.

As far as W98 and IE5. I am not sure why anyone would want to go back to IE4 but I am sure there will be someone who wants to for whatever reason. Here is the senario where you can't uninstall it. See the section titled "Cause". I could be wrong but the way I understand it, you can't uninstall IE5 on a Windows system that ships with IE5. I am not sure but I think W98SE may ship with IE5.

Hi NormanSmiley, thank you for your time and tip, it's quite an interesting application, I'll download it for future use, but the solution from BHesson (thank you master ) is much more simpler.
Hi BHesson, FYI, to change the title bar branding of IE5 according to the last respond in http://www.helponthe.net/tsgbb/Forum1/HTML/003340.html , goto the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explore\Main either delete Window Title in the right pane or right click > Modify to rename. I did that and nothing change still, then I found it in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explore\Main, the Window Title in the right pane did have the same property like the above reg. key, so after modified, everything work fine.

Glad we could help! Thanks for letting us know about the different registry location. I'll keep this link for any future questions on this topic.

Now don't go calling bhesson "master". He gets a big head when he is complimented and then he starts thinking he's LarryCore, tries to re-register under that name and everything!!!
