Glad to hear that it worked. And thanks for reporting back.
Scandisk.alt is a mechanism used to get Windows to run a 3rd party disk utility (like Norton Disk Doctor) after a bad shutdown. In this case, the install would copy NDD.exe as Scandisk.alt to the \command folder. Windows, if it sees the file there will treat it as an EXE and run it. If scandisk.alt does not exist, then scandisk.exe is run.

It wasn't such a serious problem, but it seemed such a silly problem that was beginning to bug the bejeezuz out of me and, I suspect, quite a number of you too.
