Outlook 2003 hangs will not load....maybe due to Plaxo
After installing Plaxo on Outlook Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition I was unable to load up Outlook. Instead it would hang and I would have to close using Task Manager. I tried uninstalling Plaxo but it did not uninstall, instead the uninstall process stopped responding. I contacted Plaxo who suggested removing Plaxo software manually from the registry editor (hkey_current_user\software\plaxo), I did this and it removed Plaxo and I was able to access Outlook again in that it did not freeze when I started it up, however, I did experience problems connecting to the internet. Moreover, the next day Plaxo had somehow reinstalled itself! I was rather annoyed and possibly wrongly deleted any reference I could find to Plaxo in the registry and used ccleaner and Ashampoo WinOptimizer to delete any files relating to Plaxo.
And unfortunatley even tho Plaxo has been removed from Outlook it will not load up properly and hangs when I start it.

Any help would be much appreciated, I have tried removing Outlook using the installation CD and then reinstalling it but it still hangs.

Thanks,

Re: Outlook 2003 hangs will not load...
thecooler,

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I'm one of the founders of Plaxo and this problem isn't one we've encountered before, so if it does have to do with Plaxo I'd like to help you track it down and make sure it is not affecitng any other of our members.

The Plaxo uninstaller should remove all of the files, but since you said it is not working for some reason (?) you can manually delete all of the files in "\program files\plaxo". Without those files, Plaxo cannot load. Before you delete these files (if you haven't already) could you please send me the log file "\program files\plaxo\plaxo.log" ?

Also, I would suggest removing all add-ins (not just Plaxo) and see if that helps. You can do this by deleting/renaming the registery keys HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins.

Thanks for you help, please let me know if this resolves your problem. You can contact me directly at todd at plaxo.com.

Plaxo and Outlook
Dear Todd - Or anyone at Plaxo? Or anyone who knows?

I would like to use Plaxo to view my Outlook Calendar Online only. None of the other shared contacts bells and whistles. Do I have to download Plaxo toolbar - or can I do this using Plaxo Online?

If I use Plaxo online- will it snch automatically after I import it?

THank you!
