Ok, it looks like I had the same error as a lot of other people. And reading this I think I have found the answer (at least it worked for me!!!!

)
I had installed a Card Reader into a USB port to download from my digital camera. I have Quicktime and do not use Nortons!!!
The only time I got the error was when I started to open ONE CERTAIN GAME on my Desktop---it would take at least 5 cancels to get rid of it and the game would then open and that is when I came here to check for a fix. And thanks to all the poeple telling all the tricks that they used I "discovered" mine!!!
Since I have downloaded all the pictures that I have NOW and don't need the Card Reader RIGHT NOW I uninstalled the Software for my Card Reader and took it OUT of the USB port----NO MORE ERROR--
Now, I have fixed mine---not to say that this is the issue for all but to me it seems that it had something to do with the USB and the Card Reader (at least on my PC)

I have just started getting this message myself when I start my computer and it can take about 20 times clicking on continue before it goes away but all my desktop icons load up as this happens.It has only started since I installed more memory and another hard drive in my machine.I have a HP Pavillion T3545UK but have just installed another 2 Gb in memory and another 200Gb hard drive.I am running Windows XP and have Norton installed bbut have read that alot of people do not have Norton but are still getting this problem anyone any ideas?

How much ram is installed? I think it IS possible to have TOO MUCH ram for XP.

I only had 1Gb of ram in the machine when I bought it last year but I see that it was so cheap at the moment £22.99 for 2 Gb when last year when I looked it was £70-80 so it justs shows how some things have come down in price (I expect its cos my system is old now)

XP cannot have a complete memory dump if the machine has 2GB of RAM or more

Well, if the problem JUST started after you installed the new memory, logic would make me suggest that you remove the new memory

Fixed it I think now used Partition manager on the other hard drive that I installed and it seems to of fixed itself

Might have a look at fitting another DVD/CD writer in now tomorrow if I get time.

Hey, I have figured out one problem and it has stopped my computer from getting the message
1. Try checking your local drive for errors. This will be scheled for your next restart. You do this by right clicking on your local drive. You will find this in my computer. Once you right click click on properties, then on tools.Then click check-for-errors. This might take a while so dont sit around for it finsh.Do something while you wait.

2. I had installed a printer a while ago. I had unistalled it and problem solved good luck.

Did you also remove the HP printer from the control/printer panel?

No, I've now gone to the control panel and deleted the HP Printer Icon....anything else you'd recommend?
