Check out this forum's thread - there seem to be several possible causes and solutions (personally, it sounds like it is looking for a drive that is not longer available)

Getting the same message when I try to open a Quicktime file. The only way to close the no-disk pop-up box is to go into Task Manager and shut down Quicktime.

I can offer you a solution and fix to this one

I'm willing to guess it is being caused by a program called dit.exe which is installed by some card reader software to allow you to name the drives and for them to have individual icons.

It runs on startup and is a pretty much useless process.

Initially you should test to see if it is causing you problems.

Run msconfig and if it appears in your startup list disable it and restart

if that solves your problem then delete dit.exe from your windows folder (you can also get rid of dit.dll, dit.ini and ditxp.exe)

You should now do a registry sweep to get rid of any dit.exe entries

Hope that fixes the problem for you

thanks for the welcome, it looks like so many forums, people come here to moan that something is broken and then never come back again

Well, at least I posted something positive

The problem is most commonly associated with quicktime or even Itunes if that is installed.

With Quictime you need to clear the "recent" cache.

Dit.exe is another one as well.

For individual attention to this issue you should post a Hijackthis scanlog in the XP forum, if that is your OS. Business is the wrong place for it.

This problem is due to a defect in the uninstaller of Norton Antivirus.
The uninstaller fails to cleanly remove some components and as a result, leaves your Windows Media Center edition in a bad state. To fix the problem you can either:
a) Reinstall Norton Antivirus.
b) Close Media Center
c) Reinstall Windows Media Center edition
d) Contact Symantec and complain about this problem to get them to acknowledge the problem and fix their product.

I just upgraded from XP to XP Pro to get a better description of the error. The description changed to a CA.exe error, \Device\Harddisk5\DR16. Since this is an ez Trust firewall error on my computer, I uninstalled Windows defender. Now I don't seem to have a problem.

I have CA - decent, but the firewall in particular has caused me a number of problems, especially in not allowing graphics and Flash files to load properly in either Firefox or IE.

Hi all

I started having this problem yesterday. It only occurs when I plug in or turn on my printer (note this is through the USB port, or an attached 7 port hub) - an Epson CX6400. I had no problems until yesterday and there may be some significance in that windows downloaded around 9 updates earlier this week. I have no floppy attached so cannot disable this. Certainly for my laptop the problem seems to be that windows is expecting a disk and not a printer through the USB port. How I fix this goodness knows. It will drive me insane having to constantly press the cancel button. Any new suggestions/ideas?

Unknown source
In other words, we don't yet know the source. I first ran into this problem with a computer 2 days ago, then while visiting my Father today, it came up on his computer. I am trying to get a list of similarities between these disjunct computers only sharing, MS Office & XP so far.

We've got the same problem. I belong to BT home computing and theve told me what to do. It is something to do with Norton anti virus, you cannot uninstall it on your computer.
You have to have an uninstall tool. This is how to get it

Log on to google, search for symnrt, this will have what you want, downnload the removal tool, they told me for xp it's option 1 step 2, once done restart your computer, let me know how youve gone on
