Exclamation HELP! Front Page is locked up
Hello all!
My PC is about 3 yrs. old and came with Front Page installed (I don't have the CD).
It is now locked and "not responding". Basically, the PC isn't recognizing Front Page.
I can't get in at all. It says it cannot open "httpd.frontpage.conf" or something.

Is this a goner? Do I have to buy the old program and reinstall? I don't want to lose my whole website info!

It could just be a corrupt link. Have you tried opening frontpage through my computer - programmes - office etc...
Alternatively right click on an html file and select open with frontpage

Nothing responds. When I go into my files, etc....and right click to open FTP files it says it is unable to load those files using Front Page.

Have you tried System Restore back to a time before it locked up? Perhaps you might recover it that way.

There are other good programs out there aside from Frontpage, just like Macromedia Dreamweaver. If your Frontpage program really doesn't work, and you don't have a CD to reinstall from, then I'd suggest you start looking for an alternative HTML editor online. You might find lots from download.com or you can search the Microsoft pages for a link to an installer for Frontpage, although I highly doubt they have any. Get Dreamweaver, it should be worth the wait.
