Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition - ENU
This has a problem. I downloaded it from the official Microsoft website, and i cant use it for some reason, i have it installed, is says everything has installed successfully but then i try to five the Visual C++ and i cant, oddly enough at the bottom of program files folders there is a Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0 folder i open that and there is another folder called Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition - ENU. i open this and there is only a log folder. well i figure i must be doing it wrong so i go to Start>All programs>Visual C++ 9.0 Express Edition, i click the Visual C++ 9.0 .exe and it says, "Windows is searching for VCExpress.exe to locate yourself click browse. I would love to locate it myself but every time i do the system search the window freezes for some reason. well I'm out of ideas, if anyone would like to give it a shot please do. ill be checking back 2-3 times a day, so sorry if its a tad late response.

I found this path c:/Program Files/Microsoft Visual Studio 8/Common7/IDE/VCExpress.exe so since you are using Microsoft Visual Studio 9 I would think this c:/Program Files/Microsoft Visual Studio 9/Common7/IDE/VCExpress.exe would be the path.

Instead of trying to run the program from the all programs menu you could right click on, go to properties and the properties box should tell you where it is.

What OS are you using?

Does it freeze for all searches or just that one?

Did you notice this freezing prior to installing SP3?

No, my computer hasn't done any errors in a long while, not even blue screens. but the funny thing is i had my windows xp disc for about 6 years and i wanted to make a safe copy of it on my flash drive last night, and i installed it and then when my computer restarted it said there was a missing or corrupt file by the name of hal.dll i fixed it using the Microsoft recovery console, so its no big deal, but it just came out of nowhere, i'm not sure if its because of the install or a bad SP3 bug.

I've never tried to copy an XP CD so I can't say. I would think it has copy right protections added.

Is the machine still freezing?
