Exclamation Solved: Powerpoint exiting error
Microsoft Office Powerpoint @007 runs quite well until I exit the program. Whenever I exit Office Powerpoint 2007, I get this error message:

Microsoft Office Powerpoint has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have run Microsoft Office Diagnostic. The program says that there are no problems. I have gone through the "repair" procedure for the set of Office Suite. This did not solve the problem. It occurs regardless of whether I open a powerpoint file or only the program itself. The error appears on the screen after the Powerpoint window closes. This error does not occur with any other of the Office 2007 programs. Please advise. Thank you. I have windows xp home edition.

Check what add-ins are loading and try disabling them.
(Micosoft Office "button" top left and select Powerpoint options-addins)

There are no active add-ins. I have four inactive add-ins: Custom XML Data, Invisible On-Slide Content, Off-Slide Content, and Presentation Notes. These are all "Document Inspector" Add-ins.

Do you have a local default printer installed (yep I KNOW it sounds crazy!)

I have a printer
My local default printer is HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One. A local printer doesn't seem like it should be a reasonable cause, but Microsoft products have had a wide range of crazy problems over the years.

Printer drivers cause all sorts of problems in PPT 2007. It's worth trying out another default just to rule it out (Just choose one of the provided printers in your Windows version, you don't actually have to have the printer.)
