Oh, that was ~$udy guide1.doc and I went into options of word and changed it to "Confirm convertion at open" and tried to fix the doc, but all I got was 3 lines of "Sharon Drew Morgen" the owner of the laptop.

The emailed version is the exact same as the one I have on my harddrive. No difference and nothing to recover.

Sorry AcaCandy, trying to do 3 things here for my boss. Are you referring to the file name? or something that I missed?

It does appear the changes were not saved so there's nothing else that can be done. The last tool was run in an effort to see what was saved around that time but I don't see anything else that might be the one.

You're welcome. I just wish there had been a better outcome.

Maybe this time you should save a second document as a backup, just in case.
