Incorrect Word extension

I have a Word extension which looks like .docgram

I can't open it, move it, delete it.

Any ideas?

Do you need it? Do you want to delete it? You can probably delete it in safe mode. If you need it, I'm just guessing, but try changing the extension to .doc.

Want to keep it. It's not hurting anything except I saved it in My Docs which I auto backup. And know it keeps giving me an error message cause it can't back it up.

check the properties - may have gotten blocked somehow.
try opening it in Note Pad to see what it is, too....

You can probably use Unlocker. I've never used it but I've heard it's good.

Can't ck properties. not an option and I don't want to delete it.

I don't think Unlocker forces you to delete the file. Read the description.

Well, I installed a "slave" harddrive on the computer I was backing up, backed everything to that and then deleted the files that I had backed up to my computer.

My auto backup program was the only thing that wouldn't recognize the files.

I wanted to add a second hd anyway so that solved my problem and I also know it was my backup program (SecondCopy) and not the file that was giving me the problem.

It is quite possible that the error was caused due to a limitation in SecondCopy - too long a path and filename perhaps?
Would have helped to know this in the beginning....oh well, glad you figured it out.
