I have been using outlook express forever. never used outlook. my partner strongly urged me to get up on outlook. so when i go to the settings where you can select all the defaults boxes the option for emails has outlook express but outlook is not appearing. I just installed outlook 3. Shouldn't that have make that option available?

You installed Microsoft Outlook 2003?

It should appear in the Programs menu under Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

Do you see the program listed in the Programs menu?

Thank you for your words, however, that is not what I am referring to. go to start, then left click on Set Program Access and Default. There you have an email setting. Outlook is not an option.

Outlook 2003 is not listed as an option in that area for me either, yes I have it installed.

To change the default e-mail program use these steps:
Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs tab
Click the drop down arrow for the E-mail: field and select Microsoft Office Outlook
Apply, OK to save and close.

Let us know if that makes a difference or not.

Outlook is not showing up as an option. I guess I will need to reinstall Outlook

If you don't see it listed in the Programs Menu, check in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
