Try this : Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9, or just Ctrl+Alt+F9 (this don't work in my case)!

That works, but is there any way to get the spreadsheet to do that automatically, say, once the cell is unselected?

It could be, but this will make excel slower!
I don't think it worth do it automatically, the colors are not changed very often, but if you wanna it be done, we could try!

That's okay. I've set-up a macro that is activated via a button that will update the fields when I choose, and that's working well.
