Difference betw MS Office 2007 Standard and ...Pro
Hi,
A simple question to help me decide if I need to upgrade:
I'm registering for an online course that states I need MS Office 2007 Professional, but I have MS Office 2007 Standard. Will I be at a serious disadvantage if I do not upgrade? (It's for an entry level course: CIS105.)
I would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Hey there!
Office 2007 Standard contains the programmes:
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
- Outlook

Office 2007 Professional contains programmes:
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
- Outlook
- Publisher
- Access

What course are you taking? Sounds like you're going to need access to Access (pun intended) so is it a business course?

Hi, and thanks for your quick response!
The course is a prerequisite for higher level courses that I want to take.
The requirement is: CIS105 (at Rio Salado Comm Coll).
And I see on my shelf that I DO have an upgrade to MS Office Small Business 2007 Upgrade.
But you are right: it doesn't have Access.
(Years ago I used something called DBase, along with my Fortran Programming courses.... but that was in the stone age. [SMILE].)
Is it possible to purchase only ACCESS? (And all of this just for a college course......!)
Thanks again. I'm anxious to see what you think.

Yes you can buy Access 2007 on its' own. Here is MS' own link but look on Amazon, play.com etc for better prices.
