Solved: Word Documents gone after reboot...PLEASE HELP!
My microsoft word documents are gone now that I've rebooted my computer.

When i try searching for a document that i know the name to...i can find it

though and open it. Its like their gone...but their still there. Does anyone

know how to bring up all the other documents because

i cant remember all of their names and they don't show up under my docs.

Thanks, Bobby

Hi jbb04

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

What operating system and version of Word are you using?

In what location/directory do you usually keep your .doc files?

Did you do a Search for: .doc files?
The files you did locate, did you notice what directory they were in?

I'm currently using Microsoft Works version 8.0 for Windows XP. The

documents i searched for and found were in HP Pavilion C: Documents and

settings....usually in one of my old - MY Documents. I tried searching all

files and folders for .doc files but didn't find anything. I managed to find

more word documents from dates back to 2006 and 2007 when searching

in HP Pavilion C: Documents and Settings, but i know i had plenty from

2008 though. If i dont end up finding them its no biggie...i just wanted to

retrieve some of my old workouts plans and school essays that i had

typed.
