Question Copy and Paste into email fine but changes after being sent
Ive been having a problem after copying and pasting text into an email and the content has changed after I have sent the email. I have tried copying the text from MS Word (2007), from a different email, from Notepad and pasting it into the email I want to send and they all look fine before sending the email. The only way I know that the content has changed (minor formatting changes, font size changes and adding in a few characters and symbols) is when I go into sent mail and it is not the same as when I sent it. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the Tech Support Guy Forum!

It would be helpful to know which e-mail program you use: Outlook, Outlook Express, or some other. In Outlook Express, you can click on Tools/Options and set the font type and size for composing e-mail, as well a format details. You can also direct that your reply to an e-mail is to use the format of the original. You might want to check this out.

Have you tried sending an e-mail to yourself to see if, indeed, it has changed?

I dont use a specific email program like outlook, I just use AOL mail. I have tried emailing it to myself and the results are the same. I also tried my desktop with the same results. I also tried (in MS Word 2007) adjusting the copy/paste options to keep formatting the same after a paste into a different program.

Sorry, I am totally ignorant of AOL. Perhaps someone else will jump in with a suggestion.

Although I don't use AOL's mail, I do know that most of the online emails have very few fonts they support (for example, Yahoo lists only 10 fonts), and along with that, a small range of font sizes (which sometimes are not even listed by point size, just a big, bigger, biggest type of thing. Again, while Yahoo does list by point size, there are only 7 possible sizes).
So I would recommend you go to AOL's mail site and see what fonts and sizes are listed, and then choose only those when you compose your email in Word.
