Unhappy Microsoft Office 2007 Install woes
I can't seem to resolve this. I first lost the icons for all MS office apps (everywhere, just have the no icon picture). Don't know how that came about, it was still working just fine except for that. But I really wanted my icons back so I tried to use the change option in add remove programs, nothing happened, thought that was a bit odd, so inserted the reinstall cd and tried to run it, got an application failed message. Went back to add remove programs and tried to uninstall Office 2007 Home and Student, it opens a window with the progress bar and then fails just like the cd install. So I check the microsoft knowledge base and find an article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us) on what I suppose it must be, follow it's instructions to manually uninstall MS Office through file/registry deletion. Restart. Insert the cd again and the same error, though it does have slightly less errors listed (guess I got some of the problems). Now I am at a loss, I have deleted everything else I could think of and am getting a bit frustrated here with it. Any help is much appreciated.
