Outlook filtering good email
I am trying to send emails to my personal list, and suddenly realized that even when I send the message to my own address, and even if the SpamAssassin score is 0.5, Outlook 2007 puts it in the Junk mail folder. My junk mail folder setting is "low".

Anyone have any suggestions to overcome this? Otherwise my message will end up in friends' junk mail...

Thanks.

I am not familiar with the program, but does it have a balcklist or an allowed e-mail list?

I do not have nor use SpamAssassin; however, I set Outlook 2007 to accept only email from my Contacts and my Safe list.
  • Actions/Junk Mail/Junk Mail Options/Options tab/Safe Lists Only checkbox.
  • Actions/Junk Mail/Junk Mail Options/Safe Senders tab/Also Trust email from my Contacts checkbox.
You can then add others to your safe list (or delete them) as you encounter them.

Everything that comes in goes to Junk Mail unless the sender is in my Contacts or Safe List.

The Safe List entries can be fully-qualified (e.g.: user@domain.com) or broader (e.g.: @domain.com).

Outlook Junk mail
If everyone does this, most of the emails would end up in Junk folder I am afraid. What do you do when you want to send an email to someone you met the first time and make sure they see it?

Thanks,

I call them if they do not respond to my email.
