Outlook 2007 "open next item" Not Working

I recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and lost the ability to have the next email item opened after deleting or moving an item. I have enabled this feature (Tools -> Options -> Email Options), but there is no change. Both the "open the previous item" and "open the next item" features produce the same results (i.e. "return to the inbox"). Help??
