Unhappy Solved: Lost my whole Outlook 2003 Program, Help!
Help!! New State, don't know people yet.

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 gives me the following error message each time I attempt to open the program:

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.

I just moved to california from missouri. My things are still in storage in missouri. Is there a way I can correct this error without trying to repair from my CD? I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1

My Outlook program has all of my back home and california referral information . . . I am lost without it.

Not sure what the root cause of problem. HOWEVER! You can back up your outlook details by going into - My Computer, then Documents and Settings, then whatever you have called your account, then Local Settings, then Application Data, then Microsoft, then Outlook. You will then see "outlook.pst" - copy this and you will have saved ALL your Outlook data. If you need to follow this through, post back or mark solved.

C:\Documents and Settings\"Your name on the computer"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Hi AgapeLove

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Do a Search for .pst files to locate the directory where Outlook stores them.

Also try creating a new profile in Outlook 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918

Start Outlook 2003 using the new profile, locate the .pst file using Search, then open the .pst file in the new Outlook profile using:
File > Open > Outlook Data File
Browse to the location of the .pst file and select it, the Personal Folders (.pst file) should then appear in Outlook.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

Ok, I tried your suggestion, set up a new profile. I still get the same error message.

Are you starting Outlook with the new profile and not the old profile?
Did you set Outlook to prompt you for a profile or set the new profile as the default profile?
