Sometimes I'll get the error: file is damaged and cannot be repaired, when I try to view this pdf: http://lacnyc.org/profdev/Spring09_Catalog.pdf

I've cleared out my cache and temp files and tested in IE7 and Firefox. It seems to be random when I can view the PDF or receive the damaged file error. I've had 2 coworkers also try to view the PDF from the above URL in IE7 and Firefox and both using Adobe Acrobat 7. One person was able to view the PDF without errors in both browsers (however, upon refreshing the damaged file error occurred) while the other person received a blank page on both browsers and no errors. After installing some updates, the person received the damaged file error. I also checked with another person who used IE7 and Adobe Reader 8 and received the damaged file error.

I have yet to receive errors when I open the PDF from my desktop using Adobe Acrobat 7.

This problem seems to have started when the site was moved to a new server. The file is stored as binary data in a MySQL database. The old server had MySQL 4.0 on Windows 2000. The new server has MySQL 4.1 on Windows 2003. I copied the database from the older server to the new server. And we even deleted the binary data for the PDF and "uploaded" a new one. The file is 5MB and seemingly there are no problems with view PDFs that are smaller in size.

I post all this detail hoping someone would have some suggestions. I have yet to find a common thread as to why viewing the PDF in a browser would have such random occurrences of the damaged file error.
