Smile Solved: Outlook .PST files
Hello all
Up until a couple days ago my HP computer was just fine, XP Pro with Outlook 2007. Then several caps on the MB started leaking and ultimately the computer wouldn't boot anymore. My first thought was to replace the MB and simply carry on, but then a good friend offered another machine, custom gaming, which I accepted. This computer also runs XP Pro with office 2007. Here's my problem, I would like to recover my personal folders and the mail they contained from my old HP computer and place the mail on my new computer. I am pretty sure the files I'm looking for are .pst but I cannot find them on the old drive. I did find the .nk2 file in Application Files then copied it onto the new computer but thats as far as I got. If my new computer were also an HP I would try to put the old HDD in and boot it, then copy everything I wanted onto an external drive, but it's not. So I need to find a way to extract the data I need from the old drive, in particular several PP presentations I received through email. I currently have the old drive connected to the new computer via a USB to IDE cable so I am able to view the contents of the old drive. ANy help is greatly appreciated!

Why did my thread get moved? This is an Outlook issue, not OS.

When you search the old drive for *.pst, set it to look in Hidden and System folders

Thank you! I did find the files I was missing. I was looking in the wrong place actually, I was looking in Docs and Settings > user > Application Data - not Local Setting > Application data. Once again, all is well on Earth! Thank you again
