Lightbulb How do i reply to many emails at once with Outlook 2007
To explain in more detail, i am in HR and i was looking for a feature in Outlook 2007 to send the SAME email to 500 applicants (like "Sorry, you didn't get the job..." etc.). However, the current scripts i have used opens up every single email while its pasting the same message and sending which slows my computer for an hour.

All i need is to send the same email to 500 people at once (by holding down ctrl, selecting the emails and right clicking 'Reply to All') using 1 email and having all recipients automatically populated into the BCC field (so they cant see the other applicants names).

It doesn't have to be a script, but can be any add-on or software.
Does anyone know of anything?

Thanks a lot guys!

Hi moondy

You can download a free trial of the MAPILab Toolbox here: http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/toolbox/screenshots.html

I have not tried it myself so I cannot vouch for the product. Though it looks interesting.

Another thing you might consider, does your ISP allow 500 e-mail recipients?
If not, the message may be rejected.

Hi EAFiedler,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it out however and unfortunately it still requires me to add the recipients one by one. As you can imagine, thats something i'd like to avoid.

I was swinging more in the direction of a script.

Also, the 500 emails was just an example, but our ISP has no restrictions on emails anyway.

No problem, you stated script or software. Mapilab may have something else.
A quick Google search gives these results: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=colle...fp=7Su96F2g1Ok

Do you have the recipients in some sort of document, or where is the current scripts you have used grabbing the recipient e-mail addresses?

Are the e-mails you are responding back to in the same folder (specific folder)?

Please provide more details.

i think everyones a little confused.

Quote:

Yes. Basically, all i want to be able to do is highlight all my emails within a folder (it may be 20 or 500), right click to something like 'Reply to all in BCC' and then type my message.

That way i:
· Don’t have to open 100's of emails and paste the same message
· Don’t have to save the contacts
All the other scripts that I’ve used just don’t do it like that...and the software still requires you to add the contacts one by one and/or to have them in your address book...which again, defeats the purpose.

My thought was, move all the messages that you want to send the same reply, to their own folder, create a new Contacts folder for that folder and harvest the contacts to that Contact folder. This way they are kept separate from other Contacts.

Create your e-mail and select all the Contacts in that Contact folder and send.

There is software that will collect the addresses but if that is not to your liking, perhaps posting your script will allow someone else who is more familiar with scripts to help.
