Corrupt Word Document DOC File?

I think this Word document is corrupted:

How do I fix it?

It is supposed to look like this:

Try this, open the document in Wordpad Loads of sysbols should appear rather than blocks. Highlight all test and change the font to Arial.

I've attached the fixed doc also

You must be using Windows 7 because I don't think older versions of WordPad will open DOC files. I'm using the WordPad version on Vista, and it didn't work.

All I get is a bunch of even more jumbled text even after I changed the font. Example:

im using xp wordpad and it worked fine for me. How very, very strange.

I'm not sure why I could do it and you couldnt but I hope the file I attached was what you were after i'll ponder the mystery further.
