Microsoft Outlook 2007 Help
Hello,

I've been trying to figure out a way to send all spam into the "Junk E-mail" folder and automatically add the senders of the spam to the blocked list. I got tired of individually blocking domains and senders.

Creating a macro to send the spam into the Junk E-mail folder wasn't a problem.

The issue that I am having is with adding the senders to the blocked list.

I've done some digging around, and it seems that I would have to decode an undocumented binary to get a start on this. Can anyone verify if this is true? If this is indeed true, then it appears that what I'm trying to do is simply not possible. If my inference is wrong, can someone please help me out? Even a recommendation to a 3rd party add-on would be great.

If what I said above isn't an option, is there a way to block multiple IP addresses of the senders using a macro? Although, the IP addresses are most likely dynamic...Anyways, any input on this option would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Phil

A suggestion: I went the other way. I send everything to the Junk folder unless the sender is in my address book or in my Safe Senders list. Much easier to manage.

The problem with that is that I cannot receive e-mail from new clients or older clients with new emails/domains. Moreover, there are hundreds of clients. If I miss even a single one while importing, it could be an issue for me.

Thank you for the suggestion, though.

I do not know of any spam filtering that is 100% accurate

It's not that I need a spam filter that is 100% accurate. I don't mind manually moving the spam. What I basically want to do is to block multiple domains at a time, so that I don't have to click "Add Sender to Blocked List" for each and every domain. Doing so is ineffective already...

I'm just looking to see if there's something in VBA that can be done to simplify and make the process more efficient.

Blocking Domains is a pretty big hammer in of itself.

Again, what I am looking for is to block multiple domains at an instant instead of tediously doing it one by one.

The domains that the spam come from are refreshed contantly. I think it would be more efficient to block multiple domains at once.

There is a Junk Mail Filter update for Outlook from Microsoft that comes out at least every first Tuesday.
