Recoving Excel Doc
Good morning!

I lost my thumbdrive over the weekend that had several files that had not been backed-up in about a month. One document in particular is an Excel document. Is there any way I can retrieve a temp version of the document on the computers I've recently opened the Excel document on? It is listed on the "recent documents" in Excel, but, of course, it will not allow me to open it because it can't find the source (my lost thumb drive).

Any help here would be appreciated---my alternative is remaking a 6-tab budget -- ugh!

Thanks!

Hi jgillmer, and welcome to TSG.

Without knowing what version(s) of Excel were being used and on what operating systems, we may not be able to give you specific answer.

Here is some information for possible recovery for Excel 2003 and 2007 on Windows XP and 2000.

How to recover a lost workbook or a lost version of a workbook in Excel 2007 and in Excel 2003
