Exclamation Excel 2007 VBA
I get two error messages when I start Excel: "You do not have a license for this ......" and the second, "ActiveX cannot Create Object". How do I recover or replace the ActiveX component for CreateObject? After clicking OK on each of these informational messages, Excel sppears to work normally and I can still write programming in VBA.

What version of Excel are you uisng and is it a full version or trial version? My guess is that you have either a hidden macro or add-in that is not loading properly.

Thanks for the reply Rollin
This is a full version of Excel 2007 that I have been using for well over a year. I write VBA subroutines (macros) and userforms to automate a complex set of functions that I use the Excel spreadsheets for. I have not had this error message in the past and right now it's just really a nuisance since I don't use the VBA to create new objects. I just like everything to work smoothly with no errors to bypass. And, who knows, maybe something else is missing that I don't know about.

Thanks again -

Check your XLStart directory to see if there are any workbooks or add-ins trying to load. Have you installed any new software recently such as Adobe Acrobat Pro??

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12\XLSTART

Cool Contents of XLStart
The folder <C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 2007\Office12\XLSTART> is empty. The only Adobe product I have is Adobe Reader 8.0. I believe it updated recently, but don't percieve that as a problem. I run RegCure and RegEasy regularly and they appear to detect and "fix" 10s, if not 100s, of problems each time. I can't tell if one of them has removed something that pertains to this problem.

Thanks again for your responses. Maybe with your help I can zero in on the cause and find a fix. I still think reinstalling the ActiveX component CreateObject is the solution, but I haven't found a way to do that.
