Using File - Print and then printing the entire document works. If I click "pages 2-3" or "print current page" I get an error message similar to:
"0x7a901011 referenced memory at 0x00530028. The memory could not be written" [the memory location numbers may change]
This means I must print an entire document, even though I want to print just one or two pages.
I don't know if it is related but when saving a document in Word, I occasionally get a message to the effect: "Global template changed normal.doc" and asking if I want to change it. I click no because I don't know what has changed.
Any suggestions on correcting this print command problem? (Compaq Presario computer running Windows XP 5.1 and Word 97 SR-1; printer is HP Deskjet 6940.) | | Distinguished Member with 2,315 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: mid-atlantic | | bill,
welcome to tech support guy
try this:
open the document you wish to print from
open a second blank word doc
copy the pages you do wish to print from the original doc
paste the pages to the blank doc
close original doc
can you now print the second doc? | | Junior Member with 3 posts. | | Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Tallahassee FL Experience: Intermediate | | Daniel B -
Thanks for your response. No, that didn't work. Still get same error message. The problem comes when using the drop-down menu. If I simply click on the "printer" icon at the top of the screen, the document prints fine (but of course there is no selection of pages).
This problem doesn't happen when using other software such as WordPerfect or Open Office, so I think it is in the Word program. But since I use Word primarily, I'd like to get the print routine working properly.

If so try one of those, they may fix up word or easier yet, try reinstalling the program. | | Distinguished Member with 2,315 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: mid-atlantic | | bill,
