Is it possible you were using a .pab file (Personal Address Book) to store your contacts?
Most likely named: mailbox.pab
If that is the case, Outlook 2007 should be able to Import the information from the mailbox.pab to the Contacts folder.

This link shows more files you may want to search for, look in the section called: How to back up Outlook settings files
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/195719

The signatures may be stored in these types of files:
Profile Name.htm
Profile Name.rtf
Profile Name.txt

Sorry, there is a contacts folder and all the contacts seem to be there. Just not available in Address Book when drafting new emails. Ooops, I just poked around and found how to refer to Contact List from Address Book. Not the same format as before, but this will work.
Now just need to find all the old signatures if possible.

Discovered how to point the Address Book to the Contacts... not exactly the same format I'm used to, but it will work just fine.
Also, finally found all the signatures and copy-pasted into appropriate folder in new system. Looks like everything is working now. If I discover anything else I think I can fumble my way through it on my own -- if not, I'll be back.
Thanks sooooo much! I'm not sure what is customary and appropriate, but I'll make a small donation to the cause.
Glad I found you all. TechGuy.org is now bookmarked for future reference.

I have never seen the signatures save but the "Contacts" should be in the .pst folder.
Maybe it's time to uninstall, delete all Outlook folders, move the old pst file to another folder somewhere and then reboot and install again and this time move the store or point the program to where it is as I suggested earlier once you have installed Outlook. Or before opening Outlook, delete the pst folder install created and replace it with one from old system then open.

It sounds like when you fist stated using Outlook, it was set up to use the WAB (Windows Address Book) from Outlook Express. It was never converted to a "Contacts" style of book.

You need to go to the OLD machine, find the ".wab" file, copy and bring it to the new machine and see if you can import it into you current Outlook program.
