Lightbulb Solved: Word 2007, Adding a space between sentences
Is there a way to set up Microsoft Word 2007 so that at the end of each sentence when you hit the space bar it will place two spaces instead of one? Or is there a way to set up a hot key so it will just do this every time for any program?

Whilst in the document click on Home tab on the ribbon
Where it says Paragraph, move your mouse over the icons in that section until you see Line Spacing appear and click on that Icon.
Select the line spacing that you want.

But is there a way to set it up so that there are 2 spaces between sentences? Instead of having one space with the space bar I need to have two. It makes the sentences easier to read. I was just wondering if there was a way to automatically set this up. Or if there was a way to make it so that every time I press the space bar it gives two spaces. So that my words would look like this.

Oh sorry I thought you meant 2 lines beewen each paragraph.

The way I would do what you require is the following for the moment.

Create the document with full stops at the end of each sentence and one space.

When you have finished the document make sure the Home tab is selected on the ribbon.

On the very right hand side of that you will see Replace. Click on that once.

In the find what box type a full stop and 1 space

In the replace with box type a full stop and 2 spaces

Click on Replace All.

It will tell you how many times it has done . Click on OK and Close.

There is another way, which I am just checking for you.

OK this way makes sure it works in every new document.

Click on the Office Button
Click on Word Options
Select Proofing
Click on Auto Correct Options

Where it says Replace Text as you type, click in the Replace box and type.. (i.e. 2 full stops).
Click in the With box and type . (i.e. 1 fullstop and 2 spaces)

Click on the Add button
Click on the OK button
Click on the OK button

Having done all of that, every time you type 2 fullstops Word will replace it with 1 fullstop and 2 spaces. You just carry on typing normally and Word will carry on doing the above every time you type 2 full stops.

It won't take long to get used to it.

What is worth noting with Auto Correct is that it is constantly correcting spelling errors without you realising.

You can do the same sort of things as above for other ideas e.g.

Say you have to type your name constantly, well you could for example in the Replace box type your initials like GB and in the With box type Gordon Brown and add it to the list.

GB will be replaced with Gordon Brown each time. Perish the thought LOL.

I hope that give you some ideas.
