#16 | Hi Shawty,
I think I may have solved your problem. I just realized that your database has a suffix of .accdb and not the usual .mdb. So here's what I suggest you do.
Take your original database and save it as databasename.mdb. You can check to make sure that it changed over by right clicking on the Access icon and checking the name in "properties". Then open your database. Delete your switchboard items table and your switchboard form. Then go into the Switchboard Manager. It should tell you that no switchboard exists and you need to build a new one. Click on yes and the new switchboard should look and function like the one I atttached in my last post. Through the new switchboard you should be able to assign hotkeys.
Try this out and let me know if this works.

#17 | The other alternative is to build a switchboard using a normal Form with Command Buttons as you say that they work OK. | | Junior Member with 11 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2009 Experience: Beginner |

#18 | Hey! SO SORRY I wasn`t able to reply! School and work got crazy. Really sorry, you`ve been so patient and helpful. Ok, my version of Access is from Enterprize 2007. I got it from my college. Now, I took that test and hot keys worked just fine (they had Access 2003). I think, it`s just that this version I have has a problem with hot keys. I tried saving my DB as a 2003 version hoping it would help, but it didn`t. So once again, I`m lost. I think that this version is faulty. That`s my only explanation. Thank you so much for trying to help! | | Junior Member with 11 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2009 Experience: Beginner |

#21 | Hi again Shawty,
It very well could be that there is a problem with your version. I know that I've worked with a few versions of Access and they all work a little differently...at least the versions of 2007 do. I even remember reading in an Access book...can't remember which one at the moment but they even said that they couldn't guarantee that the picture in the book would match every user's version of 2007! Makes ya wonder, huh?!
Well either way I'm glad everything went well with your test. Is there a way that your school can give you a free copy of Access 2003 so you can continue to do your homework on that since that worked out well for you?

#22 | I`m done with the class. Passed the final last week (OE/OE type class). So, I`m good. It`s good to know though that dif versions of Access can act up like that. Thanks again for sticking around! | | Member with 52 posts. | | |
