EXCEL: Search/find
Is there a function that will allow me to search an entire sheet for a given string? The LOOKUP functions seem to work on either a single column or row.

Thanks for your help.

skopstein, welcome to the Forum.
Have you tried the main menu>Edit>Find to look for your string?
You can easily record a macro of using it to do what you want.

Thanks for the quick response. Maybe this is just so obvious I don't see it. I can create the macro, but I would need it to run every time any cell changed.

So are you checking for "Duplication"?
You can place your macro in the Change event procedure, if you look in the VBA Editor's Help (different to the Excel help) and search for it it provides an example.
I can post an example of using the Event Procedure if you like.

Kinda sorta. The book has two pages. When an entry is typed on one sheet, if there is a corresponding entry on the other sheet that second sheet must be changed.

I'll check out the VBA Editor's Help. Thanks for yours!
