We need to find out if your username and password are good before trying to determine what is wrong in Outlook.

Is this the first time you will setup your outlook 2000, are you able to sync or dl you mail from this host, are you sure with the uname and pword you provide during the setup, have you double check if this is the correct server add for you outgoing. Cheers.

There are some old emails in his inbox. He has sent emails in the past that have gone through.
Michael | | Senior Member with 294 posts. | | Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Greenville, SC Experience: Beginner | | I removed all outlook files. I then reloaded the Outlook files from the disc. Still not working?
Could it be a corrupt .pst file or something not letting me do this successfully.
Michael | | Junior Member with 28 posts. | | Join Date: Nov 2009 Experience: Beginner | | hi daniels012, base on your first post the problem is your not authorized. Let stick with it. The message could not be sent because it rejected you as the sender. Server

match'.(Account:'imap.aol.com', smtp Server:'smtp.aol.com', Error
numberx800ccc78). You have to check your settings again and .pst is different from this stories.
Try to check the ff:

#11 | Ok Followed your list!
I get a new error message now.
I get to the point where I put the 587 in the box and hit "Apply". As soon as i hit apply it gives this error: The imap store could not be properly updated. You may want to restart Outlook before proceeding. The File C:\Users\Mike Sr\Desktop\TomOutlook.pst could not be found.
My dad may have rearranged a few files here to mess us up?? What can i do here?

Michael | Try to locate that .pst file and if you can't find it try creating new one for the new settings.
Note: The PST (public store) file will be where you e-mail, contacts...will be stored. This file is like a Word document. However, by using POP3 you are responsible for your e-mail. Treat this file with care. IMAP is something different from POP3. Do not store your new .pst file in your desktop, keep it somewhere else that is safe. Cheers!

#13 | I found the file. It is in that directory, but obviously does not recognize it, because I get the same edrror message.
Could it be I have a corrupt .pst file?
If so How can I uncorrupt it without losing all my contacts?
I am not doing a POP3 account, I am using an imap account.
Thank you so far on all your help, any ideas for me to go forward?
