Problems with saving documents in Word 2003I want to tell you something, that happene
I want to tell you something, that happened a number of times last night:

I have a friend who is legally blind and with the help of a large 32" computer screen as monitor, and a very large, special keyboard still wants to work as secretary in one of our organizations (Schlaraffia which has been around for 151 years now world wide).

He prepared a document and sends it then to me for review of spelling or other , usually minor things. I then SAVE AS ( give the document an appropriate name) and close out this portion of work.

When I later want to send him the reviewed document I go to Documents and never found this saved as document.

So I thought, I must have made a mistake, bring up his document again, make the necessary corrections and do again a SAVE AS with a slightly different name.

Then the same saga as before. I cannot find the document. Going into Search also does not find the document or the previous one. This happened a third, maybe a fourth time.

FINALLY, I watch and see that it saved this document under something very strange, namely A8DCU6MA and that under C:\Users\Karl\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent - but, and this is the most annoying, I cannot open this folder.

So I cannot access this folder and see what else it saved there.

3 Questions;

1. Why does it save there at all? How do I change it to a more "normal" save as location?

2. How can I access this folder A8DCU6MA

You need to do a "Save As" and file it where YOU want it and NOT in the temporary files area of your browser.
This way you will know where it is and get to when you need to.

Also, note that some temp files disappear when they are closed, as they are temporary.
