can't copy from Word

Hi,

I am having trouble copying my text out of a word document and pasting it into another word document. For some reason, this problem only affects the one document which I really need to be able to do this with. The document is over 50 pages long, but even just trying to copy 1 sentence/word doesn't work, any suggestions?? (I have checked and the document is NOT read only)

Are you sure the format is the same? The latest version of Word uses the .docx extension and the older versions use the .doc extension.

not sure of the link but if u upgraded to office 2007 from previous version microsoft has a tool to read the older documents

Have you tried Ctrl-A?
Try saving under another name, then copying.

I've come across this issue in the past. I have no idea how it's done, but I have received Word documents (usually from U.S. Government agencies) that couldn't be copied or printed, only viewed on the screen.
