Solved: Word 2007 New Doc Issue
why does a new word doc open with an old doc in it? i've tried highlighting and deleting old letter and it appears to be deleted but it pops up at the end of the new doc. tried to delete it using Windows Explorer but couldn't find the doc. Same with 'searching' for doc. it isn't found. the original doc is saved as 'Document1 (Compatibility Mode) MS Word non-commercial use'. don't know how it got saved that way. this was actually a doc i started and didn't finish and didn't intend to save at all. each time i start a new doc it is labeled sequentially...doc1, doc2, etc.

It sounds like your template file has been accidently modified. See the link below.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...307561033.aspx

You can also search yoru system for the template file which has the extension .dotm

Once you find and delete it a new one will be created for you. The file is likely hidden so make sure to enable searching for hidden files in Windows.

Regards,
Rollin
