Blue lines replace pages in a file
It's only just happened today. I was working on a 29 page file and all of a sudden half of the pages disappeared and were replaced by thickish blue lines. I have XP Home and use Word 2007.

I have found that I can see the contents of the vanished pages in Draft and Outline. I tried copying the pages from Outline and opened a new file and pasted these pages on it. It worked but then the same problem occurred after a time. I am now scanning for viruses using Panda and Malwarebytes Antimalawre.

Heeeeelp!

Does the file display the same on another computer? It sounds like a video card error with the screen not drawing correctly.

Thank you for taking your time over my problem. I have now solved it .. c below.

I had an inspiration early this morning and tried to track back what I had done before these appeared. I figured that since I could see the text in these pages in Outline and Draft, they had not in fact disappeared. Therefore they wer 'hidden' when in a Page Layout view. I also knew there was no bug as I had run a Malaware Anti Malaware and Panda Scan which showed there was no viruses at all.

It occurred to me that since the blue lines had appeared after I had tried to delete a line of text, I should go back there, though I still don't know why it happened in the first place. Any ideas since that action should have just deleted the line highlighted?

Anyway. I opened the file scrolled down to the page before the blue lines started and I pressed delete and hey presto, they all appeared.

I'm a happy bunny now and feel very clever.
