Excel pivot tables
Hello Gurus,

I created a pivot table.
I need to add one other data column, and also have the ability to add ever-expanding data rows.

Please help.

Thanks

Excel Pivot Tables
Yes.. this is exactly what I wanted.

However, I need one more corresponding column.. "Pmnt3"

OK - so you did it..
But how do I do it?

When I do it - it generates a counter - like the number of times it occurs..

Thanks

I am sorry, but I need to do some other things. As soon as I get the chance, I will post back on how to do it.

Unless somebody else chips in as well.

Why?

This isn't solved and unfortunately I haven't had the chance to help xpertus any further.

This person needs clearly written instructions on how to create a Pivor Table based on the file he has posted plus Post #3 and #4

Would you be able to find the time nesr?

Cheers

I don't have 2007, but in general (using 2003) you highlight all the fields you want the data from - this includes, in your case, several fields that you will ignore in making the pivot table.
Then just add all the fields you want to the column in the layout except for the Amount, which goes in the data section of the layout.
The more fields you include, however, the messier a pivot table becomes, and the more difficult they are to read. In particular, you want to go to the field settings for the fields Date2, Payment ID and Pmnt # and have it not show subtotals.
(Oh, I had to zip the file because it is too big.)
